ARM U™ 15% DMPP is a nitrification inhibitor designed to protect ammonium nitrogen in the soil from premature conversion to nitrate — where it becomes vulnerable to leaching and denitrification. By slowing down the microbial conversion process, ARM U™ 15% DMPP keeps nitrogen stable longer in the ammonium form, giving crops a more consistent and efficient nutrient supply — especially important during wet spring conditions. When you want to keep nitrogen where your crops can actually use it, ARM U™ 15% DMPP is the solution for your nitrogen management.

How It Works

DMPP (3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate) temporarily inhibits the activity of Nitrosomonas bacteria in the soil. This slows the conversion of ammonium (NH₄⁺) into nitrate (NO₃⁻), significantly reducing nitrogen losses through leaching and denitrification. Crops benefit from a more gradual and controlled nitrogen release profile over several weeks.

Key Features and Benefits

Slows nitrification for 6–10 weeks depending on soil temperature and moisture, Reduces nitrate leaching losses after rainfall, Reduces nitrous oxide (N₂O) greenhouse gas emissions, Improves nitrogen availability during key vegetative and reproductive stages, Supports stronger root mass, tillering, and biomass accumulation.

Active Ingredient

DMPP: 15%. Designed for liquid application onto urea or UAN fertilizers.

Application Guidelines

Target Fertilizers: Urea, UAN. Recommended Application: Coating rate depends on nitrogen application rates, crop type, and soil risk factors (follow Taurus recommendations and final label). Methods: Fertilizer blending systems, on-farm application, injection into UAN solutions. Works best when combined with practices that minimize surface nitrogen exposure.
