Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Reports To: Chief Strategy Officer
Work Environment: Flexible – work from home or from our Saskatoon office within our sister company, Active AgriScience Inc.
Maybe You’re Our Person
Taurus Agricultural Marketing Inc. started 25 years ago with a simple idea: agriculture could be better.
Better agronomy. Better products. Better conversations about what actually makes sense on the farm.
Today, we work with six leading manufacturers and service providers to bring science-based, agronomically advanced solutions and services to Canadian farms through agricultural retailers.
We are looking for a Marketing & Events Coordinator who is creative, curious, organized and driven.
You should be able to:
- Find the story inside a technical conversation.
- Understand an audience and identify the message that matters.
- Turn ideas into campaigns, content, events and finished materials.
- Notice the details and follow through.
- Bring personality and creativity to your work.
Sometimes that means making a complex idea easier to understand. Sometimes it means making something look really, really good. Often, it means making sure every detail is in place for an upcoming event.
About Taurus
We ask why.
We dig into the research, consider agronomic fit, economics and logistics, then communicate the answer in a way that matters to farmers. Our marketing has to do more than fill a content calendar. It has to tell a story.
You will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to strengthen the Taurus brand and the brands of our partners across Canada. You will have room to develop your creative voice, bring forward ideas, learn the Taurus story and grow into shaping and telling it yourself.
Role Overview
You will help execute Taurus’ marketing strategy across:
- Digital marketing, social media and email
- Print and sales-support materials
- Events and industry channels
- Partner marketing initiatives
This is a hands-on role for someone who can move from idea to execution while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Campaigns and Projects
- Take campaigns from concept through execution.
- Coordinate product launches, seasonal campaigns and promotional programs.
- Maintain marketing calendars, project timelines and campaign schedules.
- Coordinate printers, suppliers, photographers, videographers, media partners and other vendors.
- Keep photography, graphics, marketing assets and brand resources organized.
- Look for ways to improve how we work.
Content and Storytelling
- Create content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and other digital channels.
- Develop platform-specific content with strong hooks and clear messages.
- Turn technical agronomic information and research into useful, engaging content.
- Repurpose long-form material for different audiences and platforms.
- Identify opportunities to capture photography and video from our people, customers, research trials and events.
- Communicate naturally and confidently on camera.
You will work within an established strategic direction and brand voice. As you grow into the role, we want you to develop the confidence and judgment to shape stories through your own creative approach. You will work closely with the CSO and receive support and collaboration from our Digital Marketing Specialist.
Show Us How You Communicate
Instead of a traditional cover letter, please submit a selfie video that is less than 90 seconds long.
Choose one Taurus product or solution and create a short social media post covering:
- Hook
- What it does
- Who it is for
- Why it matters
- Call to action
The video does not need to be highly produced. We would rather see something natural than a polished commercial – and so would our social media audience.
We are looking at:
- How you think
- How clearly you communicate
- Whether you can find the story
- Whether you can make a technical idea interesting and relevant
- Whether you can create something people might stop scrolling to watch
You are not expected to know every technical detail.
Events and Meetings
You will help coordinate and execute:
- Industry tradeshows
- Grower meetings
- Dealer and customer events
- National and regional meetings
- Conferences and field days
- Training events
- Internal company events
- Executive and leadership meetings
Responsibilities may include coordinating schedules, meeting materials, venues, travel and accommodations, catering, attendee communications, event logistics and follow-up.
The goal is to create events that feel organized, professional and worthwhile.
Travel Expectations
Travel to approximately 8-10 major agricultural tradeshows and industry events each year is required, primarily throughout Western Canada and Ontario.
Our current calendar includes:
- Agri-Trade Equipment Expo
- Lethbridge Ag Expo
- Crop Production Show
- Canada’s Farm Show
- Manitoba Ag Days
- Ag in Motion
- Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show
- London Farm Show
Additional travel may be required for grower meetings, partner meetings and company events. Some events include early mornings and evenings, but rarely weekends.
If spending time around farmers, agronomists, researchers and crop-input conversations sounds interesting rather than exhausting, that is probably a good sign.
Brand and Marketing Materials
You will help organize and maintain:
- Promotional merchandise and branded materials
- Tradeshow materials, signage and literature
- Product guides, brochures and technical materials
- Sales-support materials for Regional Agronomic Account Managers
- Marketing initiatives involving manufacturing partners
- Consistent brand standards across all materials
This role requires both creativity and organization. We need both.
Technology and Continuous Improvement
Marketing tools and platforms continue to change, and so will the way we work.
We are looking for someone who is curious about new technology, willing to learn new tools and platforms, open to experimenting and comfortable adapting as marketing and business needs change.
You do not need to know everything. You should enjoy learning, testing and improving.
Who We’re Looking For
You are a marketer, but you are also a doer.
You can hear an idea in a meeting and start figuring out how to make it happen. You can work independently, contribute to a team, ask questions, care about details and follow through.
You are:
- Creative – You see possibilities and bring ideas forward.
- Driven – You take ownership and finish what you start.
- Curious – You want to understand the product, science and business.
- Collaborative – You enjoy working with people and contributing to a team.
- Adaptable – You understand that agriculture, marketing and business do not stand still.
- Technology-minded – You are open to new tools and better ways of working.
- Social-media capable – You understand hooks, clear messages and platform-specific content.
- Comfortable on camera – You can communicate naturally in a short video.
- Detail-oriented – You understand that small details matter when content reaches thousands of people.
- Practical – You know great marketing still has to make sense.
- Personable – You understand that people connect with people, not corporate wallpaper.
- Interested in growth – You want to move from executing direction to helping shape and tell the story.
Education and Experience
You need both education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Marketing, Advertising or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional marketing experience.
- Experience executing marketing campaigns and projects.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Experience creating digital and print marketing materials.
- Strong working knowledge of social media and digital marketing.
- Ability to write clear, engaging content for different platforms.
- Comfort creating or appearing in short-form video content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team.
- Willingness to adopt new technologies and learn new tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel to approximately 8-10 tradeshows per year throughout Western Canada and Ontario.
Strong Assets
- Formal training or demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
- Canva experience.
- Photography, videography or video-editing experience.
- Experience creating Reels, Stories, short-form videos or other social-first content.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, CRM systems or other marketing technology.
- Experience coordinating corporate events, tradeshows, conferences or executive meetings.
- Experience communicating technical, scientific or research-based information.
Agriculture Experience
A farm background or meaningful experience living or working in agriculture is highly preferred.
You may have grown up on a farm, continued to farm, have family involved in agriculture or worked in ag retail, agribusiness, crop inputs, research or agricultural communications.
You do not need to be an agronomist – we have a lot of those already. However, it helps if conversations about farming do not feel foreign.
Understanding agriculture will help you:
- Communicate with farmers and industry professionals.
- Make analogies your audience understands.
- Recognize relevant stories and opportunities.
- Understand how to work a tradeshow booth effectively.
You should be approachable, observant and comfortable starting conversations with people you have never met.
The Bigger Picture
We recently celebrated our 25th year in business.
We are proud of that, but we are not interested in spending the next 25 years doing exactly what we did during the first 25.
Taurus is growing. Agriculture and technology are changing. The way farmers consume information is changing. We see a significant opportunity to communicate agriculture differently.
We are looking for someone who wants to help build what comes next – someone who gets excited when an idea becomes a campaign, reaches growers across the country and changes the way someone thinks about their farm.
You will have the opportunity to learn the Taurus story, understand why it matters and grow into helping shape and tell it in a voice that is distinctly your own.
If you read this posting and found yourself thinking:
“I have ideas already.”
We should probably talk soon.
How to Apply
Please email your application to [email protected] and include:
- Your resume.
- A selfie video less than 90 seconds long featuring one Taurus product or solution. Tell us what it does, who it is for, why it matters and how you might turn it into a social media post or short video.
- 1-2 examples of your work.
You do not need to submit a traditional cover letter. Your video does not need to be perfect or highly produced. We want to see how you think, how you communicate and whether you can make a technical product or solution interesting to the people it is meant to serve. Video files and work examples may be shared by WeTransfer link in your email application.
If available, please include examples of your work such as:
- Social media posts
- Short-form videos
- Other social-first content
Your video and submitted work should give us a sense of how you communicate, what you are proud of creating and how you approach a story. If you land an interview, we will continue the conversation by asking what agriculture means to you, which campaign you still think about and what you would love to build next.
Show us a little bit of who you are.
We will do the same.
