Position Details

Region: Central Alberta Preferred

Term: Permanent Full-Time | Home-based Position

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree, preference in Marketing, Communications, Ag Business, Public Relations

Compensation: Negotiable – Pending experience and market awareness

Skills Required: Organization & planning, proficient in utilizing the various marketing programs outlined below, excellent content creation – both visual and written, understanding of Canadian agriculture – specifically crop production, strong attention to detail, creative & innovative, adaptability

Experience Required: Previous marketing-communications & sales experience, budgeting, creating & executing marketing plans, coordinating tradeshows & travel, working in agriculture

Job Description – Marketing Manager

As the Taurus Marketing Manager, you will develop, execute, and manage activities and communications used to promote the Taurus brand. Keeping with Taurus’ innovative style, collaboration, versatility and dedication to developing and executing Taurus’s marketing plan, campaigns and projects, while staying on budget will be key to ensuring success in this role.

This role will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Creating and executing the marketing plan for Taurus and coinciding budget
  • Overall promotions of Taurus, product portfolio & agronomic expertise, and clients – brand awareness & representation in the Western Canadian marketspace
  • Developing & managing content for the Taurus communication channels
    • Website, Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), E-blasts, Blogs, Videos, Webinars, Podcasts & Print Advertising
      • Working with Word Press (Cloudways, GoDaddy), Hubspot, Go To Webinar, Survey Monkey,, Adobe, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
      • Doing in house graphic design for print and online advertisements, social/online content, event and field signage
      • Video editing of recorded webinars, promo videos – sharing agronomic/timely topics featuring the Taurus Team/Taurus clients
      • Outsourcing design work as needed – responsible for keeping on budget
  • Communications
    • Creating and sending out press releases
    • Writing blogs, content for e-blasts, magazine articles
    • Managing communication lists
    • Building Outlook email templates for Sales Team
    • Internal Communications
      • Building/updating product pricing & sell sheets | Taurus Product Portfolio
      • Managing the team Dropbox
  • Working with Taurus Clients’ Marketing Departments
    • Building out client packages to showcase marketing efforts throughout the year and layout cost share
    • Maximizing exposure by coordinating Taurus’ marketing plan with clients/opportunities to collaborate
  • Booking & coordinating annual trade show schedule (approx. 10 annually + individual region Rep meetings)
    • Working with the Taurus team to staff the shows, arranging travel/accommodations
    • Attending shows as needed (to be approved)
    • Promoting Taurus’ presence at the shows (both to drive booth visits & to reach a broader audience not attending in person)
  • Ordering Taurus SWAG, promotional items, team clothing
    • Building out a ‘Taurus online store’ for internal/external use
  • Arranging Taurus team meetings and events as needed
  • Current/Upcoming Marketing Projects:
    • Tradeshow booth update for 2024
